SR Inc Announces Cisco as SBER Outstanding Corporate Leader of 2012

SR Inc was pleased to recognize Cisco’s growing global leadership in more sustainable business and leadership in SR Inc’s shared-cost research & consulting service by naming Cisco as the SBER Outstanding Corporate Leader of 2012 during the Summit on Sustainable Business IV in Washington, D.C.

As Cisco embeds sustainability in its business functions globally and offers game changing solutions that advance sustainability, such as Cisco TelePresence®, Cisco Connected Workplace, Connected Grid, Cisco Virtual Office, and Cisco EnergyWise, Cisco has emerged as a global leader in corporate sustainability. Cisco reduced its worldwide Scope 1 and 2 as well as Scope 3 business air travel emissions by more than 30% in absolute terms compared to their 2007 base year, while also increasing revenue more than 30%. More than a third of Cisco employees telework with Cisco’s Virtual Office solution installed in their homes. Cisco’s EnergyWise technology, built into its switches and routers turns the network into an energy monitoring and control platform. Its smart grid products are enabling the incorporation of renewable generation into utility grids, and laying the groundwork for the electrification of personal automobiles. In addition, 100% of Cisco’s contract manufacturers, 80% of its component suppliers and more than 90% of its global transportation partners report to Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

Cisco has received other recognition in 2012, including 2nd place in the Greenpeace Cool IT Leaderboard and making CDP’s Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index for the 5th year in a row.  Cisco is also a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability World and North American indices, a member of FTSE4Good Global 100 index, and carries a “Prime” status from oekom research.  More information is available in Cisco’s 2012 CSR report.
