SBER Member-Client MetLife Launches EV Charging Program at 14 Campuses
Late last month, in its capacity as an official partner of the DOE’s “Workplace Charging Challenge,” SBER Member-Client MetLife began an electric vehicle (EV) charging program for its employees at 14 U.S. campuses in 10 different states.
As part of this program, the company has installed 32 General Electric Level II electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) for employees to charge their plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) while they work. The goal of this program is to encourage PEV usage amongst employees and to create a more sustainable workplace environment. According to the press release, of all the Workplace Charging Challenge participants, MetLife’s charging program is the most-widespread.
Through its year-round un-metered advisory service, SR Inc is pleased to assist Member-Clients as they look to implement sustainable business practices, such as EV charging stations, amongst their facilities. SR Inc has already done work in this arena – one example is the SBER Research Briefing: Electric Vehicle Charging Stations – and the Research Team is currently working with various Member-Clients to provide an update to this report next month. These pieces of SR Inc original Management Best Practice Research, as well as other vendor-neutral Executive Guidance and Tools like it, are available as part of SR Inc’s SBER membership service.
