HP has been an environmental leader in the office printing products indusry and [continues that leadership](https://sustainround.com/blog/continues%20that%20leadership). Wal-Mart, which has [responded](http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/5372660.stm) to consumer and investor pressure to be more [socially ](http://walmartstores.com/Sustainability/7985.aspx)and [environmentally ](http://walmartstores.com/Sustainability/7776.aspx)sustainable, recently called on electronics suppliers to reduce the amount of packaging which products use. HP is now shipping a [new notebook computer to Wal-Mart that uses much less packaging and uses recycled packaging](http://uk.reuters.com/article/environmentNews/idUKN0241925420080903). HP is an example of how companies are innovating in the arena of sustainability to reduce costs and are doing so via an integrated strategy that leverages everything from their [supply chain](http://www.sustainable-supplychain.com/) to their [office space](http://www.environmentalleader.com/2007/09/06/corporations-green-up-office-space/).
