## Carbon Neutrality

Carbon Neutrality is a goal for many companies. This week’s Boston Business Journal had an article about how to think holistically about carbon neutrality at a time when people are wondering if carbon offsets are a [modern form of Indulgences](http://www.socialfunds.com/news/article.cgi/2265.html).

Meanwhile, Google is [funding](http://dotearth.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/08/19/google-to-invest-in-geothermal/) new efforts to harness [Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS)](http://www.nytimes.com/imagepages/2007/01/23/business/20070123_GRANITE_GRAPHIC.html) and Cisco has committed to a [25% *absolute *reduction in GHG by 2012](http://newsroom.cisco.com/dlls/2008/ts_062408b.html). Note that absolute reduction means total GHGs will be reduced rather than, say, a reduction in GHG per square foot.
