SR Inc Announces Jean Lupinacci of the U.S. EPA as SBER Outstanding Public Sector Leader of 2012

SR Inc was pleased to recognize Jean Lupinacci as the SBER Outstanding Public Sector Leader of 2012 during the Summit on Sustainable Business IV  in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Lupinacci has led the Energy Star Commercial Building and Industrial volunteer program towards remarkable and market defining success.  She is the Director of the ENERGY STAR Commercial and Industrial Branch in the Climate Protection Partnerships Division at the EPA and has  served in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for 20 years, with primary responsibilities for developing and managing energy efficiency programs.  Under Jean’s leadership, the ENERGY STAR Program has grown from 3,200 certified buildings in 2007 to more than 20,170 in 2012.  This unprecedented growth has made the ENERGY STAR designation a universally recognized badge of high performance in energy efficiency – and a market defining standard of excellence.

Ms. Lupinacci has chaired the United Nations Environment Program multi-national committee. She also oversaw the successful integration of the Green Lights and Climate Wise programs into ENERGY STAR, the introduction of innovative energy performance metrics for commercial buildings and the extension of the ENERGY STAR label to buildings and she has facilitated adoption of organization-wide energy management programs through-out the U.S.
