Across its footprint, Advocate Health has made sustainability and environmental stewardship central to its mission, and it publicly reports progress through its sustainability disclosures and climate commitments.

  • Net-Zero Commitment & Near-Term Targets – Advocate Health has pledged to cut greenhouse gas emissions 50% by 2030 and achieve net-zero by 2050, aligning its climate strategy with the U.S. Health Care Sector Pledge.

  • Renewable Electricity Leadership – The system has committed to powering operations with 100% renewable electricity by 2030, pairing energy efficiency with on-site and off-site clean power to drive real Scope 2 impact.

  • Transparent Emissions Accounting – Advocate Health has published a full 2022 Scope 1 and Scope 2 inventory, totaling 811,478 MT CO₂e, establishing a rigorous baseline for tracking progress and prioritizing reductions.

  • Recognized Sustainability Performance – Advocate Health hospitals are consistently recognized for environmental stewardship, including multiple national honors from Practice Greenhealth for programs spanning energy, waste, procurement, and sustainable operations.
